Apple Launches Apple Watch App Store

Apple has today launched the Apple Watch App Store. This comes a day before the official launch in the U.S. This isn't much an App Store. Rather, it's just a list highlighting of some of the top apps that support the Apple Watch. All of this can be accessed in the Apple Watch app on devices running iOS 8.2 and newer.

When you download an app from this App Store it will go directly to your phone, rather than the watch. That means that everything will be stored on your phone. If you're interested you can check out the new App Store without the need of a watch connected.

    Apple Seeds iOS 8.4

Apple has today seeded the first beta of iOS 8.4 to developers. This seed almost comes a week after the release of iOS 8.3. This new version of iOS mainly focuses on the music app. There are many improvements to the overall design of the app. There isn’t a lot of the functions that you can do with the app. However, it has a new design with selections at the bottom and filters by artists, albums, and more at the top. Again, other than the improvements to the music app there isn’t a whole lot that is new.

Developers can downlod beta 1 in the iOS Developer Center.

    Apple Retires Aperture and iPhoto

Apple has today officially retired iPhoto and Aperture. They announced that they would be removing both from the App Store once the new Photos app for Mac launched. That app came a few days ago with OS X 10.10.3, which means that it's time for both to go. Starting today the consumer iPhoto app and professional Aperture apps are now removed. The only photo editing software from Apple is now only the Photos app. That app is only found on the latest version of OS X. However, if you have purchased either iPhoto or Aperture before you can still download and use them.
