The lightning connector is waterproof?

Did you know that the lightning connector is waterproof? I didn't. Recently Apple went to all of the people selling lightning connector products saying that they couldn't sell any waterproof lightning connector products because it was already waterproof. Since they are waterproof doesn't mean that you can go charge your devices in the bath tub. It's just for if they fall in water.
