Microsoft Releases Office 2016 for Mac

07/09/2015 10:14

Following four months of beta testing, Microsoft has finally released a new version of Office for Mac. This comes five years after the release of Office 2011 back in 2010. This update includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote.

Office 2016 brings the flat look of OS X Yosemite and Windows 8. It looks very similar to the 2013 update for Windows. There are some new animations and colors. If you’ve ever used it for Windows within the past few years, it’ll look very similar. This new design change is reflected throughout all of the app included in this update.

We made a hands-on video back when the first beta was released. You can view that below. We take a look at Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote, see what’s new, and how it looks.

This is available for download starting today. However, it’s only accessible to Office 365 subscribers. You have to have a subscription to be able to access the download link. If you’re not a subscriber and just want to purchase it, you’ll have to wait until September when it’s available for purchase. Until then, you have to be an Office 365 member.
