iPhone 6 to have 1704 x 960 Resolution Display

05/14/2014 16:03

The iPhone 6 will likely have a bigger screen, but new rumors say that the display may be 1704 x 960. The current screen resolution of the iPhone 5s is 1136 x 640. This boost in resolution will improve the screen clarity and provide a sharper image.

If the 4.7-inch model has this screen it will have an aspect ratio of 16:9 and 416 PPI (pixels per inch). Both of these are the same as the current iPhone. On the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 it would have the same aspect ratio, but 356 PPI. However, making the screen larger with less dense pixels drops below Apple's guidelines for a Retina display. This would result in a normal screen and no Retina display would be present.
