iOS 8 to Bring Split-Screen Apps to iPad
Apple may be planning to add split-screen apps to the iPad with iOS 8, says 9to5Mac. Doing this will allow people to run two apps side by side on one screen. This has been done many times before. Some of the people doing this is Samsung with their tablets, and Microsoft with the Surface and Windows 8.
A video concept by Sam Backett shows a very good way that Apple could pull this off. To add another app to your screen double click the home button. Once within the app switcher click the plus button. Then you will be able to choose an app to put side by side with the one you’re currently in. If you’re not happy with the size of one of the windows you can easily change it with the slider in the middle of the screen.
