First iPhone Prototype Sells for $1499
An alleged prototype of the first iPhone has sold on eBay for $1,499. The device is in very good condition. There are even some specs on the back of the device that give some info on Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and more.
According to the owner, there is special software on the device, which was used for testing. That is still on there today. However, there is no confirmation that this is a device that Apple used for testing or if it’s a fake.
Many Apple prototype devices do show up on eBay, but they are quickly removed. This is likely by Apple's request to do so. This time, however, the device made it past Apple and was sold. The auction only lasted two days and was sold via "Buy it now", not by auction. Doing this might have also been a reason it got past Apple.
