Dropbox Pays $100 Million for Mailbox
Earlier today, Dropbox announced that they bought Mailbox from Orchestra. The price that Dropbox paid was undisclosed, but new evaluations of Mailbox say that they could have paid around $100 million to get the app.
Drew Houston, Dropbox CEO, said that they bought the app so they would be able to reach a much different type of audience faster. Was this all an act in trying to get more advertising? Who knows, but we do know that they spend a lot of money doing so.
