Apple Releases ‘FREAK’ Security Fix

03/10/2015 15:29

Last night Apple released a security update for Macs running OS X Mountain Lion, Mavericks, or Yosemite. Called “FREAK” (Factoring Attack on RSA-EXPORT Keys), this update fixes an issue where hackers could attack RSA export keys. Those on iOS 8.2 and Apple TV 7.1 already have the update installed.

Those interested in fixing this security problem can do so by updating to the latest version of iOS or Apple TV. On a Mac you can go to the Mac App Store > Updates > Software updates > Security Update.
